In Wisconsin, we have over 200 canine officers. The goal of the VEST-A-DOG program is to provide a bullet proof and stab proof vest for every police dog in Wisconsin.
BETWEEN TWO AND THREE DOZEN K-9 DOGS ARE KILLED EACH YEAR. Most were shot or stabbed by the suspects they were attempting to apprehend. K-9 police dogs are an important and necessary part of crime prevention.
With your help, 4 dogs will get vests to help them stay safe, these dogs are specialized in narcotics, bomb, Internet crime against children, cell phone parts, cadaver, public law enforcement plus so much more.
The dogs chosen for police work are smart, aggressive and strong.
