Taking care of pets teeth and mouth.  Bad Breath? Difficulty eating? Pawing at mouth? Red or inflamed gums? Browned teeth? Swelling under one eye?

Oral Health is very important, are you checking their mouth for things that don't belong there? Like tumors, ticks, sticks, etc. do you brush your dog and cats teeth? What are you doing for your small animals? Do you give them chew blocks to keep their teeth from overgrowth? Do you give your pet birds cuttlebones or beak conditioners?

Let's think about that for a moment.  What better way to discover a problem before it becomes a PROBLEM. You brush your teeth, your kids brush their teeth, we need to either brush or do something to keep our pets mouth healthy.

If they are started off young with touching the mouth then it just a normal day to day process, older pets can be trained also, just takes more patients.  When it becomes a daily or even a weekly process we might be able to avoid teeth pulling, extra cleaning, gum disease etc.  With regular check ups with the vet ensure good oral health and can detect issues early on.

What are some things dogs and cats get?  Gum disease, tartar, plaque, gingivitis, bad breath and teeth, cracked teeth and unchecked this can lead to serious infection, illness or worst case death.  With small animals some advanced conditions, owners may notice their pet dropping food from its mouth, increased salivation, selective appetite for soft foods or decreased appetite, overgrowth of incisors (front teeth) from lack of wear, or even discharge from the eyes due to compression of the tear ducts from overgrown tooth roots. 

Regular chewing promotes good oral health and it can also relieve stress and anxiety in high energy dogs.  How to keep dogs and cats mouth healthy, with and without brushing.  By giving a delicious, chewy dog/cat treat like braided bullysticks, trachea's, raw meaty bones, dental toy's etc. 

There are many "helps" on the market to ensure good dental health, Oral sprays and gel's that help remove plaque, Dental wipes, even a washcloth.  Coconut oils applied to teeth and gums directly can help remove bacteria.  Products like Dentatreat, Tropiclean can be a simple solution to getting the plaque removed from teeth when the dog or cat has something to chew on or you are brushing the teeth.  I personally do not like most of the "dental chews" that are on the market.
